Jim Pike, Director of Lower Alamance Men of Steel, brought the message on Monday Jan, 22. Brother Jim taught from ____ about storing up treasures in heaven. He taught about earthly treasures and idols and compared them to heavenly treasures. Earthly treasures are not always bad, but they are temporary. Heavenly treasures are eternal. Jim taught that anything we prioritize over God is an idol. Sometimes it looks like the golden calf Aaron built for the Israelites in the desert (scripture reference), other times it’s less tangible: money, power, sex, etc.

Jim taught about the importance of heeding Christ’s teachings to store up heavenly treasures where moth and rust do not destroy and where the thief cannot steal it.
