Men of Steel 4-22-24 Praise the lord! This past Monday night at Men of Steel, two men in the New Beginners’ Class made a commitment to repent of their sins, ask for forgiveness, and accept the salvation provided by Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection! To quote Psalm 100:5 as we do every Monday night, God is good and his loyal love endures forever! Amen. Luke 15:7 says: "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over......

Men of Steel 3-11-24 This week at Men of Steel, brother Aaron Moger led us in a message on the book of Romans from chapter six, verse 23. This passage is about our human separation from God and how Jesus allows us to reconcile by way of accepting the free gift of salvation given when He died on the cross to pay for the cost of our sin. The word sin comes from an old archery term and means simply to miss the target. When you think of it this way, you......

Men of Steel 3-4-24 Last week at Men of Steel, Pastor Brian Hill led the men with a message from the book of Luke, chapter 11, verses 1-13. Jesus gave his disciples an example of how they should pray. He went on to emphasize the importance of prayer and consistency in taking your cares to God by using an example of two friends, one who called upon another at midnight, and the nature of asking for help. Jesus explained that by persistence, if something is important enough to keep asking, you will......

Men of Steel 2-19-24 Last week at men of Steel, we had table discussions on the topic of grapevine and the gardener from the book of John, chapter 15, verses 1-8. As the vine, we sometimes need to undergo pruning in order to produce the best fruit. The gardener is responsible for pruning as the vine is not able to prune itself and if left unattended it could wither and die. Likewise, being receptive to teaching and growth is how we can produce good fruit in fellowship with one another. We’re meeting......

Men of Steel 2-12-24 At Men of Steel this week, Jim Roberts led the men with a message from the book of Philippians chapter 4 about giving your fears and anxiety over to the Lord and finding peace in His presence. Philippians 4:6-7 says: 6) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7) Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ......

Men of Steel 2-5-24 At our meeting last Monday night, brother Jeff Prichard led the men in a word from the book of Ephesians chapter 6 about putting on the full armor of God as we go about our daily lives. Ephesians 6:10-18 says: 10) A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11) Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12) For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil......

Men of Steel 1-29-24 Last Monday night, brother Greg King led the men in a message on the story of the potter’s hands from Jeremiah 18:1-6. In the words of Pastor King, we can become bitter or we can become better. Jeremiah 18:1-6 says: 1) The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, 2) “Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” 3) So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. 4) But the jar he was making did......

Men of Steel 1-22-24 Last Monday night, brother Jim Pike led the men in a word on giving your cares to God. Matthew 6:19-34 says: (19) Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. (20) Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. (21) Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. (22) Your eye is like a lamp that provides light......

Brother Freddie Johnson delivered the message on August 8, 2016. He taught on the qualities of a leader. Freddie opened by reading Deuteronomy 28:13 – If you listen to these commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. (NLT). Freddie stressed to the group that as Men of Steel and more importantly as Men of God we are called to be......

Brother Jim Pike, Director of the Lower Alamance chapter of Men of Steel taught on August 1, 2016 at the Burlington meeting. Jim opened by reading Genesis 32:22-32 which tells the story of the time when Jacob wrestled with God. Jim challenged the men at the meeting to think about what in our lives we wrestle with God about. Jim shared stories about stubbornness, anger, aging and physical decline. He asked us to consider what we were holding on to that was keeping us from God’s blessings. “Examine yourselves” Brother Pike told......
