Jim Pike, Director of Lower Alamance Men of Steel, brought the message on Monday Jan, 22. Brother Jim taught from ____ about storing up treasures in heaven. He taught about earthly treasures and idols and compared them to heavenly treasures. Earthly treasures are not always bad, but they are temporary. Heavenly treasures are eternal. Jim taught that anything we prioritize over God is an idol. Sometimes it looks like the golden calf Aaron built for the Israelites in the desert (scripture reference), other times it’s less tangible: money, power, sex, etc. Jim......

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, Leadership Council member Aaron Moger taught from Dr. King’s last sermon before he was killed. Delivered the night before he died in a church in Memphis, TN, Dr. King preached about going to the Mountaintop. Happy New Year brothers and sisters in Christ! During our first meeting of the year, it is our tradition to recommit ourselves to the Lord and to each other. The men were challenged to commit themselves first and foremost to a daily quiet time with the Lord. Next they were called to commit themselves to their families, then to a local body of believers, and finally to Men of Steel. God first, family second, local church, Men of Steel. That has always been our order of priority and in 2018 we again......

The first Monday of October we were blessed to hear from the Honorable Chief Superior Court Judge Jim Roberson who spoke on Matthew 21:28-32, the parable of the two sons. Roberson explained that the parable serves as a warning to those who perform lip service to God but after “talking the talk” they fail to “walk the walk”. “True Christians recognize their sin/rebellion and repent, just like the first son.” Roberson said....

October 10th marked the Men of Steel’s annual Fall Harvest Festival. The festival is a time when the Men of Steel invite the entire community to come by for a meal and a time of worship, prayer, teaching and fellowship. A great crowd joined us in the parking lot of Greater Love and enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade tea and lemonade and more. Steel Magnolias (our women’s ministry counterpart) provided the desert. Ronnie Brown led the people in worship while they ate and then Nelson Jefferies and Aaron Moger shared testimonies before......
